The Khaled Hosseini Foundation (TKHF) values education and understands the hardships associated with the escalating costs of higher education. As a result TKHF has established a scholarship program available to help students in Afghanistan.
The American University of Afghanistan
Young people in Afghanistan have extremely limited resources and typically cannot afford the costs associated with higher education. Moreover, only one institution of higher education, offering internationally supported degree programs and education, exists in Afghanistan—the American University of Afghanistan.
The American University of Afghanistan is a non-ideological institution in which tolerance and respect for different ideas, beliefs, cultural and spiritual values are embraced. The students who graduate from the University acquire a liberal arts-based education and quality specialization in their fields.
In order to make it possible for more young women to attend the American University of Afghanistan, The Khaled Hosseini Foundation is pleased to provide a new scholarship in collaboration with Friends of the American University of Afghanistan, a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to support the University and its students.
Young women will be able to apply for The Khaled Hosseini Foundation scholarship through the American University of Afghanistan’s financial aid office. Please do not submit requests for scholarships directly to The Khaled Hosseini Foundation as The American University of Afghanistan will be administering the scholarships from Kabul, Afghanistan.
